consultation & design process
Consultation
This is a lovely time of exploration and magic. Be inspired by the extensive portfolios of Susan-Sofia’s past commissions of rings, earrings, pendants, necklaces, bangles and bracelets. Enjoy looking at the range of opulent jewels and sparkling gemstones in stock. It’s a time of you sharing your hopes and dreams and desires with Susan-Sofia. As she gets to know you, understanding your ideas and preferences, she will also develop a feel for your individual style. She will use this time to then draw up some concept sketches to determine the direction of the design you are looking for and will also discuss the materials, gemstones and costs involved.
Behind the Scenes
After the initial consultation, Susan-Sofia will continue to develop and refine her ideas and the designs - all the while staying attuned to the uniqueness of you, her muse. Your ideas, personal style, individual proportions and budget are taken into account as she applies her artistry and skills to create the designs that are uniquely right for you.
There will likely be interim consultations or conversations during the development of your design, and she will keep you fully informed as the process moves through from initial conception to the final completion.
Presentation of Final Design, Materials & Quotation
Susan-Sofia will carefully go over all the fine details, ensuring that you are clear, comfortable and excited with every element of your new piece. Once decided, and you are ready to proceed, a 50% deposit will be taken to initiate the creation of your order - with the balance payable upon delivery or pick-up of your completed piece.
Production
Manufacture takes place at specialised workshops located in Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sydney and Melbourne. From the fabrication of the gold, to the setting of the stones and the meticulous polishing of the completed piece, the entire process of production is overseen by Susan-Sofia and perfection in all areas is assured. Her strict quality control ensures that the final result is exactly as was envisioned for you.
Production time is generally 6-8 weeks, depending upon our workload and the intricacy of your design.
If you have an exact date that you require your jewellery to be ready by, please advise of this during the initial consultation, so that your request can be accommodated.
Collection
Once your piece is completed, we will be in touch using your preferred method of communication. You will then have the option of collecting directly your piece from the Main Beach showroom, or having it sent to you via courier. All jewellery is presented in beautiful SPJ-branded packaging, and personalised giftwrapping is available upon request.
